Bill Powell:, AKA: papapoo, has had end stage emphysema for over 10 years. He entered the US Marine Corps during the "Korean Conflict" and served for 24 years "retiring" as a Major in 1976. He worked for the American Automobile Association for 20 years until his COPD forced medical retirement. He joined the COPD List in October 1997, and after realizing that he could make progress by managing
his own care in cooperation with his physicians, began to get involved with the List. In June, 1998 he began a web site, "Living With COPD" in conjunction with several other List members. That site is still active and is the introduction of many to the knowledge of lending a hand in managing your own care. Bill is co-manager of the Lists along with Elaine Rester. |
